I found it on their webpage. There is some marked improvement, but they still don’t get it right.
The main problem is that I can connect to multiple servers, but each one is its own program (alt-tab instead of alt-`). Also, Apple-w doesn’t close the window (I suppose that’s because it is not really in a [...]

I just finished the OSX upgrade on my laptop. It took a little longer than I thought (roughly an hour). At one point, it said it was going to take 5+ hours.
The first thing I did was to fire up Mail.app to see if it worked properly with my Blackberry. Before, deleting email out of [...]

Last week I was in Austin, TX working on a project. I needed to pick up some networks cables and a few other bits. I posted on the SAGE-members mailing list asking for recommended stores in the area.
In Canada, we have stores like NCIX — you can order 7′ network cables for under $1.00. [...]

This article made my day.
Not because he compares iPhones to Blackberries, but because he still uses vi.
I still use vi for much of my writing, and still prefer it to any point-and-click writing application ever created. But the world doesn’t agree with me.

I’m playing around with perforce. Their installation packages leave a bit to be desired. You download the binaries off of their website and drop them into your file system.
I wrote this init script to help start it up on Redhat/CentOS systems:
#!/bin/bash
# chkconfig: 345 90 50# description: perforce (p4d) is a SCM system.# processname: /usr/sbin/p4d# config: [...]

My Blackberry has become incapable of charging today. When I plug it in, the charging symbol shows up for about 3 seconds and then disappears. Of course, this happens two days before I go on the road for a week.
I called Rogers. The earliest I can get a new phone is Wednesday, which is long [...]

We’re using Rackspace’s Hosted Exchange product instead of hosting our own. It’s been pretty good for the 4 or 5 months we’ve been using it. There have been minor outages, but Rackspace is always quick to let us know and resolve the problem.
On Friday, I discovered that they had been overbilling us. Initially, we signed [...]

Continuing on my EC2 journey.. I wanted to allow my ec2 hosts to talk to a private network at the office. We use a Microsoft PPTP vpn — it’s the quickest way for me to set up the VPN.
I’ve been the Rightscale CentOS 5 AMI for my testing. In order to get my PPTP vpn [...]

It’s been awhile since I’ve fired up an EC2 instance. I want to get in and look around and see how it’s all changed.
In particular, I’m interested in what’s going on in their load balancing world. I have 3 ideas on how it could be working. I thought it would be interesting if I wrote [...]

I was driving home tonight and my mind was wandering. I was thinking about using OpenID as a PAM auth module. I’m sure there are issues with using this, but it’s an interesting idea. I found this and this. These articles are both from 2006, so I’m guessing the idea is dead or impossible. It’s [...]
