Karma Leads to a New Keyboard

Shortly after I celebrated the snow this morning, I spilled water all over my Apple Bluetooth keyboard. It’s pretty dead at this point. It turns on and pairs with my laptop. The problem is that the caps lock and Apple keys appear to be stuck on. There’s probably some other keys that are stuck on too, but it makes my laptop useless having it on.

I’m hoping that it dries out and eventually starts working, but I’m not holding my breath at this point. Maybe somebody has some tips for fixing broken Apple keyboards?

In any case, I needed a new keyboard, as my desk isn’t ideal for using the laptop keyboard. I now have the new thin keyboard. It’s quite nice. I’m not sure if I’m going to use it at my desk (I could definitely use the desk space) or hook it up to the Mac Mini on the TV. It’ll definitely look nicer in the living room.

It’s nice to type on so far. It’s better than the mushy keys on the old keyboard anyway. I used to be really picky about my keyboards — I would only use the really click IBM ones. I gave that habit up when I had to have the serial to PS2 adapters to make them work. Now I’m fairly keyboard agnostic.

I went to pick the keyboard up from the SFU Microstore, which is a 5 minute walk from here. It turns out that they were closed due to the snow today. I ended up going to the closest London Drugs to pick one up after rush hour. That’s karma for you.
