		<description>I can confirm, yes you can turn off data usage (or wifi) in order to control costs. The main purpose I think is to prevent accidentally racking up a huge bill if you are traveling (data roaming is not cheap).</description>

		<description>I&#039;m not an expert, but I seem to remember there being an option to turn it off on the gen 1 phones. 

Also, you can call Rogers and tell them to disable data to your phone. That&#039;s what I do with my Blackberry Curve.</description>

		<description>Can you change a setting on your iPhone so that it knows not to download data except for via wifi? It seems like the iphone is pretty tied to being connected all the time. I don&#039;t have one to experiment with, but I hope you don&#039;t end up shooting yourself in the wallet.</description>
